RECIPE OF THE MEATBALLS IN THE OVEN WITH TOMATO SAUCE
We’re going to cook some meatballs in the oven, with a tomato sauce to accompany them. It is usual to make them fries, but today, we are going to make in the oven, because they are also luxury. The advantage is that we don’t add the fat from the frying. Don’t panic that the list of ingredients is long. To prepare, we are going to use common ingredients and to aromatizarlas, a series of spices that we all have for home. Make meatballs in the oven is easy and requires no special knowledge of cooking. Just follow a few steps described here.
INGREDIENTS for 8 people:
- 2 eggs
- 100g day-old bread
- 1/2 glass of milk
- 2 heaping tablespoons flour
- 1 carrot
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 600g of minced meat mixed beef and pork for the meatballs in the oven juicy
- 1 glass of red wine
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 200ml of tomato sauce
- 50g of pine nuts
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
- fresh parsley
- 1 bay leaf
- salt and black pepper
- olive oil
AS DO THE MEATBALLS IN THE OVEN WITHOUT FLOUR:
1.- We started by putting in a container large the minced meat, the eggs, the flour, the bread soaked in milk, pine nuts, chopped, thyme, cinnamon, and a handful of parsley finely chopped. Season all and mix well until the mixture is homogeneous.
2.- With this mass, we prepare the balls and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. When they are all put into the oven previously heated to 180 º c and leave to cook for 15 minutes on each side. In total they should stay in the oven about 30 minutes, until well browned.
3.- In the meantime, let’s prepare the sauce that will accompany our meatballs in the oven. To do this, we add a drizzle of oil to a frying pan wide and heat it over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the carrot, onion and garlic, all well chopped. What then season and leave to cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until everything is soft.
4.- After this time, add the bay leaf and the glass of wine. Let it boil a couple of minutes for the alcohol to evaporate and add the beef broth and the tomato sauce. Correct salt and pepper and leave to cook for 10 minutes more, until the sauce from our meatballs to the oven is formed.
5.- Finally, we add the meatballs to the sauce to bathe in the same and gather the juices and aromas. Let it all cook together for two minutes and serve in dishes.
As you can see, in a very short time, we’ve prepared some meatballs in the oven and a sauce that house very well with them. Without difficulty and without working too much. Without a doubt, worthwhile.
