A dish of artichokes with ham
Today we are going to prepare some artichokes with ham and onion, a dish that goes very well at this time of year. The artichoke is a vegetable very special. It is very healthy because of its high fiber content and its ability cleansing. It has a very characteristic taste and different from the rest of vegetables and is very versatile. You can find it in vegetable dishes, salads or as the main ingredient, accompanied with dressings, sauces or, as in this case, sausages. This makes the artichoke in a off-road of our cuisine, so this recipe for artichokes with ham, worth to be enjoyed.
INGREDIENTS for 4 people:
- 8 artichokes
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 100g of ham
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- salt and pepper
- olive oil
RECIPE OF THE ARTICHOKES WITH HAM AND ONIONS:
1.- Clean and peel the artichokes. To do this, we eliminated all of the dark leaves, which are very fibrous and remain tough after cooking. Helping with a knife we remove also the top part of the leaves and the corner, thus leaving the heart and the leaves more tender.
2.- Once clean, cut the artichokes in two halves similar and boil them in abundant water with a handful of salt, for 15 minutes. Finished cooking, drain them and cut them in two other parties. This second cut is made to avoid that it will fall apart during cooking.
3.- Heat it in a pan wide a drizzle of oil. When hot, add the onion and the garlic, well chopped. Then season and cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
4.- Now let’s add the ham, chopped in small cubes and let it cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently and keeping the heat to medium.
5.- This is done, add the artichokes to the sauté of onion, garlic and ham, and sprinkle everything with the lemon juice. Stir so that everything is distributed and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. We can now serve our artichokes with ham and onion.
On this last point, the flavors of all the ingredients will come together, forming a plate multisabor delicious. Prepare some artichokes with ham and onions is very easy and does not involve too much time or effort. Without a doubt it is a dish full, rich and nutritious.
